What makes a band good? What makes them memorable? Is it the lyrics, the emotion the music creates, or is it a little of both? We all know "good" music derives from more than just lyrics and good music, though lately it seems as if contemporary music is drifting further away from the edge it used to have. It kept us anticipating the next album, not dreading it because, "they don't sound like they used to". Music comes to life when a story is used in synchronization with it. It seems to pop-out at us, as if reading a good book. What ever happened to that feeling?

NAMM convention 2008
How do you describe the North American Music Merchandisers Convention that is held every year in Anaheim, CA.? As a novice musician I can best describe it as overwhelming and a bit intimidating. Simply arriving at the venue and seeing the thousands of exhibitors, visitors and musicians entering the convention center was a bit much.

NAMM 08- by Alvin

How could I describe my experience at NAMM ’08 in one word? Incredible; Overwhelming, Insane…Any of the above would be accurate. It is now January 22nd, and it seems that the convention is over just as soon as it was starting. I knew here there would be anything, and everything that can/could have anything to do with music. Still, the NAMM Convention of 2008 blew my expectations away, and I left just as stunned as I was amazed.

Keegan the Crusader !!!

We were recently contacted by an incredible woman named Audra Puckett. She wrote me to request that we make a small discount in the price of a childrens electric guitar. She stated that it was her sons birthday, and although he desperately wanted an electric guitar, she could not afford the guitar and shipping.

She gave me a link to a website www.caringbridge.org/co/keegan . Im not going to go into detail about Keegans condition, but there is PLENTY of great information on his site. PLEASE take the time to visit the site and see if there is anything you can do to make this little guys days brighter!

We were able to send a guitar off to Keegan, and just today received the most incredible hadn made thank you card, and some pics of Keegan jammin. We will get the pics up soon, so check back.

In the meantime, KEEP UP THE JAMMIN KEEGAN!!! Your friends out here in Cali are thinking about you!

Persistence is the key to learning...

So over the last two months I have been attempting to learn to play the guitar that Steve was so generous to give me. It is a very nice copy of a Gibson ES-335 in black with silver hardware.
