Tycoon History

Tycoon Percussion is a company dedicated to achieving and maintaining the highest standards of percussion instruments throughout the world. We are the only company in the hand-percussion industry that wholly-owns our own factory, located in Bangkok, Thailand.

Tycoon Percussion was established in 1985 and originally began manufacturing hand percussion products on an OEM basis for other well-known percussion brands. It was not until the early 1990’s when the growth of Tycoon Percussion branded products began to accelerate quickly, and within a few years, we had established a significant presence in markets throughout Europe, Asia, and South America.

All along, Tycoon had the vision of becoming the first hand percussion manufacturing company to distribute its products directly to the United States market. In June of 2006, Premium Sound, Inc. (DBA Tycoon Percussion) was established in Los Angeles, CA to fulfill this vision. Ever since its inception in the United States, Tycoon Percussion has grown in stature and recognition worldwide through improved exposure of our quality products on the world’s biggest stage.
