Viola Bridge
The bridge is very important in transmitting the sound of your viola.
It serves as the conduit between the strings and the body of the
instrument. Many advance players prefer to have their bridges
"customized" by viola luthiers in order to draw out an even better tone
from their instrument. If you desire this please visit your place of
purchase or your local viola repair shop for information.

Easy Distortion settings
It is fairly easy to achieve a distorted sound from most guitar
amplifiers. If your amplifier has separate gain and volume controls, it
should be quite simple. Make sure your guitar is plugged into the amp
and the volume on the guitar is at 100%. Turn the volume control on the amp all
the way down, turn the gain control up to 75%, then turn the volume
control up until you achieve the desired volume level.

Some info about the sound post on violins, cellos and violas
A sound post is a small piece of wood that transmits the vibrations of the top of the instrument to the back plate. It makes the violin tone much better and gets the whole wood body of the violin to play a part in the tonaity. A novice would be able to hear the difference between a good violin with and without the sound post. The sound post is never glued in place, it is like a wood dowel that is placed inside the violin directly under the bridge (more or less) from the top to the back of the violin. It is held in place by the downward pressure of the bridge and strings on the violin top. Never glue or affix it in place by any means other than the pressure ofthe strings of the violin. That will defeat the purpose of the sound post.
