Features & Playing Characteristics

The RS Berkeley F106 Elite Series flute is ideal for the student or beginning adult flutist. This closed hole flute has a silver plated custom headjoint, body, footjoint, and silver plated keys. The flute comes with 2 different headjoints, a straight and a custom curved one. The curved headjoint brings the whole key mechanism closer to the players head, shortening the reach for the player. The flute features stainless steel springs, drawn tone holes, and Neoprene bumpers which are stronger and more durable than cork. The flute comes complete with a custom black leather case and a cleaning rod. RS Berkeley student flutes are known for their rich, warm tone and their outstanding response throughout all registers.

The Pottsboro ISD band program proudly played RS Berkeley Instruments during the 2005 / 2006 school year. The instruments were played all during marching season and concert season including UIL contests, in house performances, and community performances. We were impressed with the instruments intonation and quality. We were looking for durability and these instruments proved to be of high quality both in craftsmanship and sound. Compared to other brands, RS Berkeley Instruments are a great choice for School band programs, especially when pricing and quality are the expectation. The Silver trumpets, Saxophones, French horns and Tubas have worked amazingly, both on the marching field and in the concert band. We thank RS Berkeley for being an integral part of Pottsboro ISD's band program's success this year.
